Long-term objectives

Seven project paths –

Seven goals

At the Summer of Purpose, seven project paths from the work of Hans Reitz converge, creating space to think them further together – beyond the moment.

RETHINKING LEADERSHIP

A new curriculum that puts the human being at the center — psychologically more mature, humanly clearer.

Building on the collaboration between Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus (TUM Munich) and the initiative, a new management and leadership curriculum is being developed that places the human being at its core.

It focuses on the leaders of the future — individuals who are not only efficient and performance-oriented but also:

  • psychologically more mature
  • clearer in their humanity
  • more capable of building community
  • more internally grounded
  • more values-driven

Leadership must increasingly be understood in terms of the human psyche, individual needs, relationships, mindset, and self-reflection. The M-Model – the new Munich Management Model – emerges from this collaboration.

THE COMMON GOOD AS AN ANSWER

In a time of division: the common good as a central force for social cohesion.

What can we do in a time that sows new hatred instead of fostering connection, in which radicalization grows instead of mutual understanding?

In conversation with Prof. Dr. Timo Meynhardt, the focus turns to the common good as a central response to the increasing polarization of our society.

Leipzig, as a city of historical significance stands for:

  • the tradition of peaceful revolution and
    civil society empowerment
  • the concrete research and application
    of the common good economy
  • the critical self-examination of social systems and narratives
  • the connection between psychology, philosophy, and societal transformation

Berlin

――――――――――

WHAT DOES BERLIN STAND FOR?

Together with VISIT Berlin: a place where freedom, identity, and urban society come together.

Together with the team from VISIT Berlin, the aim is to develop, in the long term, a strong location in Berlin where questions of the common good, freedom, identity, and urban society intersect.

This includes questions such as:

  • Wo are we?
  • Who is Berlin?
  • What does Berlin stand for?
  • Are we perhaps all a part of Berlin?

From this approach, a Festival of the Common Good or a strong place dedicated to the common good in Berlin could emerge in the future. Connected to this is the vision of establishing a Chair of Freedom or a strong institutional anchoring of the theme of freedom in Berlin.

ONE BILLION FOR CULTURE

Culture is not a luxury — it is work for peace. A radical call for free and independent culture.

The collaboration with Amelie Deuflhard (Kampnagel) gives rise to a call for the radical strengthening of independent culture.

As Germany prepares to invest major funds in shaping the future, culture must not be treated as a side issue. Culture is not a luxury—it is work for peace, a culture of learning, future-oriented practice, and the exercise of freedom.

From this emerges both a vision and a demand:

One billion euros for free, independent, avantgarde culture—as an investment in peace, stability, openness, learning culture, and social development!

In international comparison, the independent cultural scene remains structurally underfunded; at the same time, studies show a strong correlation between cultural participation, democratic stability, and social trust.

STRENGTHEN THE ENTREPRENEUR WITHIN YOU!

Inspired by the collaboration with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus: every person carries entrepreneurial potential within themselves.

Shaped by many years of collaboration with Nobel Laureate Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Creative Lab, the central conviction is that every person possesses entrepreneurial potential.

This is not only about classical entrepreneurship, but about:

  • initiative
  • responsibility
  • the will to create and shape
  • the power of freedom
  • the ability to implement ideas
  • bringing ideas into the world

Every individual should be empowered to further develop their own entrepreneurial strength and creative potential. Social entrepreneurship, social business, and human-centered economic models are to be promoted.

50 YEARS OF THE FALL OF THE WALL

Permanently connecting Leipzig and Berlin — looking ahead to 2039: 50 Years of the Peaceful Revolution.

Cultivating freedom and peace in concrete ways!

In the long term, in collaboration with Moritz von Dülmen, the locations Leipzig (Peaceful Revolution, October 8–9) and Berlin (Fall of the Wall, November 9) are to be permanently connected and further developed toward the year 2039 – “50 Years of the Fall of the Wall / 50 Years of the Peaceful Revolution.”

THE POWER OF MAJOR EVENTS

How can the Olympics, festivals, and concerts be used as instruments for urban development and peace?

In dialogue with Josep Vicent and Thomas van Sheik, the focus is on exploring the impact and creative power of major events. The goal is to rethink, reinterpret, and reshape large-scale events in the fields of music, sports, and culture in terms of their public resonance.

How can we harness the power of:

  • major events
  • sports competitions
  • large-scale cultural formats
  • music
  • public bids and campaigns
  • urban resonance

Context: Mega-events (such as the Olympics, festivals, and concerts) are increasingly being used as instruments of urban development, identity formation, and international positioning—yet often without achieving lasting impact.

From this emerges both a vision and a demand:

Inspired by the collaboration with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus: every person carries entrepreneurial potential within themselves.

How can we harness the power of:

  • sports competitions
  • large-scale cultural formats
  • music
  • public bids and campaigns
  • urban resonance

Einordnung: Mega-Events (Olympia, Festivals, Konzerte) werden zunehmend als Instrumente von Stadtentwicklung, Identitätsbildung und internationaler Positionierung genutzt – oft jedoch ohne nachhaltige Wirkung.
